Shout Out Clips | How To Make Shout Out Clips On Twitch

Updated: Oct 4, 2022

I am going to show you how to make shout out clips to feature other streamers on your stream! If you are looking to add some fun to your Twitch streams, this is a fun and interactive tool! The shout out clips player is featured on Twitch guru, and this tool will pick a random clip from the person's (the person you are tagging) stream clips to show off to your chat! Some of the funniest and most random clips get shared! When I see someone else using a shout out clip player on their stream, there is a high chance my clip will be one of me cursing/raging, saying "ara ara" or making that silly ahegao face (thanks chat!).

If you have ever visited someone's stream and noticed that a mod activated a shout out command that triggered a random clip on the stream, I am sure you wondered how you can do that for your own streams! By using a shout out command !so (or similar), the chat is entertained by a funny clip or epic gameplay of the tagged streamer. This tool is super easy to set up!

WHY IS HAVING A SHOUT OUT CLIP PLAYER

A MUST NEEDED FEATURE

Having a shout out clip player is a must needed feature with so many benefits. The shout out player shows appreciation to new viewers, your streaming network, and it may be a really great ice breaker for new raiders! It allows you to see some of the best content

produced by that streamer, and to be completely honest, they can be hilarious! Shout out clips really allow your community (and yourself) to get to know other people within the community, and shows support to the people who also support you! Some clips you may find on the shout out clip player may be a door to conversations with chat and may provide more content to your stream with your reactions. It is pretty fun to see memorable moments you may have missed!

Using a shout out clip player also allows your chat to play "roulette" with your clips to try and feature your MOST EMBARASING CLIPS! I know that my mods love to shout out my own channel randomly ON MY STREAM to try and get those really cringe worthy moments on screen once again. I would delete them, but I am pretty sure they have already been downloaded. HAHA!

LET'S GO OVER HOW TO SET UP SHOUT OUT CLIPS

To set the shout out clip player, you would first need to visit the website called Twitch Guru (not sponsored) and select the shout out clip player section under "free tools". You may also use the player under "subscriber tools" if you subscribe to the creator on Twitch. The paid version of the shout out clip player removes the Twitch Guru watermark.

How To Make A Shout Out Clip Player On Twitch

Once you are on the Twitch Guru website and have found the shout out clip player section, you are going to enter your stream name in the username blank. When your Twitch name is written in the username section, you are going to click "Next" to fill out the rest of the options.

The next screen on the Twitch Guru website will be asking you if you would like to turn on/off the channel reward option. I prefer to allow only mods (or myself) to have access to this shout out feature.

Once you have your channel reward option turned off, next you are going to choose the max duration of the clip being featured on the shout out. If your streams are fairly laid back, I would recommend keeping the max duration section blank. If your streams are more

often fast paced or focused, then I would make sure the duration is set at a reasonable time that meet the content you provide. If you prefer the clips to not contain sound, you can check off "mute" box however, I believe the funniest part about the shout out clip player is hearing the audio!

After you fill out the required information, you are going to copy the Browser Source URL and import that into OBS, SLOBS, or any streaming broadcasting software.

ADDING THE BROWSER SOURCE URL INTO OBS/SLOBS

To add a browser source URL to your OBS/SLOBS, you are going to click the + button under the sources section. You will need to select the "Browser" source and then paste the URL generated from Twitch Guru, into the "URL" section.

When the URL is pasted into the URL section, click the "OK" button, and a transparent box will appear on your scene. You may resize and move that box to any visible location on your scene. When the command is activated (!so plus tagging the streamer you want to shout out), that box will play a randomly selected clip from that person's Twitch clips.

HOW TO ADD SHOUT OUT CLIP BY TWITCH GURU TO OBS

If you would like to add a little extra to your shout out command (like including the name of the last game the featured streamer played), you can go to Stream Elements' custom commands section and "add new command". Change the new command name to "!so" and paste this text into the "response" section.

Head on over and check out ${1}! ! They last played ${game ${1}} at https://twitch.tv/${user}!

You would trigger the response by typing "!so @taguseryouwanttoshoutouthere".
